One of the most exciting times for parents is watching their child graduate high school and begin the journey to adulthood and figuring out what they want to do with their life. It’s bittersweet as you swell with pride at how well they’ve done, yet have a sense of grief over their child-hood being gone. All you can do is hope you have given them the tools they need to reach for the stars, or in this case...mountains.
Congrats to the Gorgeous Grad
Katelyn is graduating from high school this year with her 2018 class in Alvord, TX. She has always loved Colorado and wanted her senior photos to be taken in Colorado’s Rocky Mountains. She flew to Denver with her family, then drove out to the mountains on the snowiest day in May. Her checked bag didn’t arrive on time with her so we pushed the session back a day, which ended up being perfect because it gave the snow some time to melt. Being based in Highlands Ranch, CO, the stunning mountain views are just a short hour and a half drive from me, and they are SO worth it!
We changed up our shoot locations based on the amount of snow left and did a photo tour loop around Lake Dillon in the Frisco, Dillon, and Silverthorne areas. I loved Katelyn’s edgy style and the way she carried herself. She is going to do great things as she heads to Oklahoma this fall to study Aerospace Administration and Operations at Oklahoma State University. I absolutely loved this change in scenery and can’t wait to do more mountain sessions. The snowy mountain peaks made the most amazing backdrop for Katelyn’s senior photos, and it was so worth the short trip there. I hope she always reaches for the mountains, and I know she will do big things in her future.
