Spring is typically hard to pin down in Colorado, but this year it has seemed WAY behind on the sunshine and warmer days compared to most years. All of us are eagerly awaiting the last snow to melt away and the warmer days to stay for good. Just this past week or two things have started to green up, but we sure could use some rain to speed it along! I’m ready for some color!
For this beautiful Mommy & Me Session, we lucked out with the gorgeous weather! These photos were held at our secret "whimsical" spot in Highlands Ranch, which is notorious for the diverse array of trees and stunning views. It’s so peaceful out here I could’ve stayed for hours! We even snuck in a white blooming crabapple tree that smelled so dreamy! Most of the trees don’t have their leaves yet, but the sun was shining and the grass was green—it still felt like spring. Her precious son was even able to wear shorts and short sleeves to the session.
This mother and son have such a special bond. She watched him lovingly as he explored the area, climbed the rocks and balanced on the fallen logs. And he looked at his mama like she hung the moon—because in his eyes, she could! Mothers and sons, especially when kids are this age, have a unique relationship that is so fun to capture. I truly had a wonderful time soaking up some rays with these two during their session. It was literally a breath of fresh air, and I can’t wait for even more memorable springtime sessions like this one in the coming weeks!
