I LOVE my community, so I always jump at the opportunity to give back. This sweet family won my auction package from their local elementary school, Copper Mesa Elementary in Highlands Ranch, CO. I donate to that school's auction every year since it is the school in my neighborhood, and I always enjoy meeting the young families who win these sessions. It has become one of my favorite yearly traditions.

An Amazing Day. An Amazing Family.

This energetic family was so much fun to shoot. We laughed and laughed during their session held in Silverthorne, CO. The two adventure-seeking boys have a wonderful older sister who loves to play along with them while also keeping them in check a little, too. I loved watching the dynamics and close relationship between the siblings. They had fun showing off their unique personalities, and I had just as much fun capturing them. The youngest was too cute with his silly poses and infectious laugh. The middle boy was so handsome and played along well during the session, making sure to sneak in some goofiness—check out those rabbit ears. And their older sister is absolutely gorgeous. She is so sweet to her younger brothers but still got in a few side looks and eye rolls at their antics.

My favorite thing about this shoot was that it truly represents who they are a family. We got plenty of candid shots that reflect who each member is and the roles that they play. Outdoor sessions offer plenty of room to play and explore, perfect for families with kids. Plus, nature provides some incomparable backdrops filled with intriguing textures and vibrant colors.

This year’s amazing community donation session was another one for the books!
