A goal without a plan is just a wish.

I attended a goal alignment session with a group of passionate leaders, and it completely shifted how I think about setting goals with my organization rather than just for it.

I have always believed in focus and simplicity. Every year I choose three goals, the few things that matter most. Three has always been my number for balance and momentum. You can drive hard on three things without losing clarity or direction.

One of the leaders said something that stuck with me. We need to perform like hungry lions. It was a powerful reminder that alignment means nothing without energy, focus, and follow through.

It is easy to get caught up in execution, checking boxes and solving problems. But real progress happens when goals align, when everyone understands not just what we are doing, but why.

I suggest you sit down with your teams and derive goals that connect upward and across. Alignment builds clarity, and clarity builds momentum.
