On our road trips everyone has a role.
My husband drives. Always. Steady. Focused. Gets us there.
I love driving too.
But I realized a long time ago that while either of us could be behind the wheel, the trip works better when I am doing the strategizing.
So I am the navigator, hotel booker, route planner, gas stop strategist, and driver entertainment.
I watch the map. I plan fuel breaks. I adjust routes on the fly.
And I read random Wikipedia facts about the tiny towns we pass through.
He drives.
I make sure the drive actually works.
Road trips remind me that good systems are just clear ownership plus trust.
Everyone knows their lane. No duplicate effort. No unnecessary handoffs.
