My daughter and I volunteered with the Parker Task Force Food Bank collections today (pictured).

It was really cool to see how many people stopped to hear us out and even more who purchased food for the drive. We stood outside a grocery store handing out flyers, hoping shoppers might grab an extra item for donation. Many did! The generosity honestly surprised me.

Of course, some walked swiftly by without a glance, and I caught myself wondering if I am one of those people too. Grocery shopping can be stressful, and I probably have done the same. A good reminder to pause, breathe, and notice the moments that matter.

Some of the other volunteers were teens like my daughter, and it was inspiring to watch them engage with such confidence. After a few tries, they were probably more effective than I was. I loved showing them that it is okay to stumble over your words, laugh it off, and keep going.

No one needs to be perfect to make a difference.
